For Robbie Johal, a successful business is built on the philosophy of giving more than what you ask for in return. If you ask him about it personally he will humbly deny his reputation for charity, but by going the extra mile for his clients and community Robbie has earned a reputation as being one of the most selfless businessmen in all of Surrey.

Recently Robbie donated $1000 for a scholarship to Clayton Heights Secondary school in the Cloverdale area of Surrey, BC. The scholarship is called the “Robbie Johal entrepreneurship award,” and it will be rewarded to a 12th grade student who displays salesmanship or entrepreneurship through a self-started small business or other form of employment.

The scholarship strictly considers the drive for business success without weighing academic achievements or grade point averages. Robbie believes that business-savvy students who don’t necessarily have the grades to show for it should still be rewarded for their entrepreneurial spirit and forward thinking ideas.

For school officials, they couldn’t think of a better person to inspire children than Robbie Johal. Though becoming a successful businessman certainly requires a keen business sense, the most important lesson for success is hidden within Robbie’s very act of providing this sponsorship- Giving more than what you ask for in return.

For those who know him, this philosophy is how Robbie has found so much success as a real estate agent. Customer service, giving without thought of reward, and going the extra mile for his clients has allowed Robbie the freedom to inspire others to do the same.

To date, his real estate business has taken off, offering homes in Surrey, Langley, White Rock, Delta, Clayton hills, and Cloverdale areas. Robbie has intricate knowledge of the Fraser valley, and has access to some of the most sought after plots in the area.

Past clients continually speak of Robbie’s kindness and work ethic, saying that he’s always willing to go the extra mile for them. Steve and Jillian, who recently worked with Robbie on the sale of their own home, comment: “Everyone was saying we are in a recession and none of the houses in the neighborhood were selling, but Robbie managed to sell our home for very close to asking price. Thanks Robbie, we will never hesitate to recommend you to our friends and family and trust you will care for them as highly as you did for us.”

For the lucky student who wins this scholarship let him/her take Robbie’s example as the most important part of the prize- Selfless action always leads to success.

A day in the life for Robbie Johal consists of working hard for his Surrey real estate team, shuttling his daughters back and forth to their baseball practice, and volunteering in the community whenever he can find the time.

His community involvement includes donating a portion of every personal real estate sale to Children’s Miracle Hospital, the Adopt a Street program, participation on the Clayton Elementary Parent Advisory Council, as well as Volunteer Coach for a youth t-ball league.
