If you are thinking about checking in with the man in red this holiday season, you won’t need to go far to find him. Santa has arrived in Surrey, and is ready to listen to everyone’s Christmas wishes. There is plenty of time before the big night to get everything (and everyone) checked off your Christmas list, but it won’t be long before the Christmas rush hits the stores. Getting that perfect picture with Santa can be done at various locations throughout the city. It is avoiding the line up that can be the challenge. If you’re looking for Santa Claus, Surrey will be hosting him several times this winter.

Decked Out Malls Welcome Santa Claus

Willowbrook Shopping Centre is a great place to get some shopping done, and to grab a snapshot with Santa. He is available now to come and visit, and will be until Christmas Eve. Check out the mall’s website for details on Santa’s schedule, and line up early to avoid the rush. There is nothing worse than having your children fall to pieces before it is time for them to smile for the camera. The line will be closed periodically throughout the day so Santa can feed the reindeer. Don’t be surprised if the line is closed off early, as Santa doesn’t like to keep the reindeer waiting. On select dates, Willowbrook Shopping Centre will be going to the dogs and you can bring your pet to get a photo with Santa. The mall is home to a Target, a Sears, the Bay and a Toys ‘R’ Us, making it easy for you to pick up all the items on your list.

Guildford Town Centre is being redeveloped, and is better then ever. The mall is now home to a Lego and Disney store, making it a great place to take the kids. The mall has a fresh new look, and although construction will not be completed until the end of 2014, the mall is open now and looks great. When the project is complete, Guildford Town Centre will be the largest regional shopping mall south of the Fraser River. Santa is at Guildford Town Centre from now until December 23rd. Before he leaves, families are welcome to come to the mall in their pyjamas to help send Santa off on his journey. The mall is also offering a cookie kitchen until the 23rd of December, where children can decorate gingerbread men free of charge.

Pictures at Potters and the Cloverdale Parade of Lights

The Potters Christmas Store is always a great spot to check out during the holidays. Potters on 48th Avenue transforms into the largest Christmas store in western Canada for nine weeks each year. Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrive at Potters on the last Saturday in November and will be ready to take pictures every weekend until mid December. With creative and unusual decor and gift items displayed over 28,000 square feet of space, there is wonder around every corner.

Every year, Santa can be spotted at Cloverdale’s Parade of Lights. This annual event is a family favourite that draws a crowd, and spreads the spirit throughout the city. The event has a tentative start time of 5:00 on December 8th and takes place at Cloverdale Town Center. The parade goes on rain or shine, and makes for a fun evening with the family.

With so many Surrey Christmas events going on this holiday season, Santa Claus is definitely keeping busy. The big jolly man in the red suit will be making appearances at malls, stores and events all over Surrey this year, so grab the kids and make your way to any one of these four Surrey locations to get your Santa pictures.
